The Human Project Online Course (THPOC) is an introductory online course that explores the questions of our humanity. Based on The Human Project (www.thinkingseries.com), the course examines four questions:

• What is Human?
• What is the Value of Human Life?
• What Leads to Human Flourishing?
• How Should Humans Live?

The course takes place over 13 weeks, including the first week for orientation. Over the course of the following 12 weeks, you will read, reflect, watch videos, listen to audio lectures, and write essays. All writing assignments will be submitted as PDF files (e.g. you can write in Microsoft Word and then save it as a PDF file), including the research term "paper."

Are you taking this course as an open student (e.g. for fun and personal growth)? The course is available for free and your assignments will not be graded. This course is designed to be flexible. It can be done in group settings such as a study group with friends, church group, or book club. If you are taking the course as an open participant, you could meet weekly as a group to discuss the material and the blog questions in lieu of writing assignments.

Are you taking this course for certificate? Your assignments will be graded. As certificate students, you will be following an academic calendar, meaning you will have assignment deadlines you must meet. Once you complete the course, you will get a certificate of completion mailed to you.

On the other hand, this course is also designed to be flexible. It can be done in group settings such as a study group with friends, church group, or book club.
