A lot of information comes through a social media platform like Facebook. The bad news is that not all information coming through such a platform is reliable. Indeed, some of the news stories you see on it are outright fabricated. We all know someone who shared a social media post that turned out to be a hoax. (And that someone is often ourselves!)
